Research

The main areas of research carried out in the laboratory are:

Research development in the field of artificial intelligence technologies, in particular machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing, pattern recognition, knowledge engineering, knowledge representation, knowledge graphs, data mining and analytics, big data, small data, cloud technologies, heuristic, metaheuristic and genetic algorithms, optimisation problems, intelligent solutions, smart robots, edge AI, FPGA, cognitive computing, virtual reality, social networks.

Implementation of research results in various fields, including education and training of specialists in artificial intelligence, medicine, environmental protection, smart technologies (home, car, robots, etc.).

The laboratory is currently implementing three projects:

- Intelligent analysis of the city's road infrastructure congestion based on video surveillance camera data

- Identification and classification of transport location on urban territorial infrastructure facilities based on satellite images of the city

- Development of an intelligent system for recognizing, classifying and recording surgical instruments.

These projects are implemented in close cooperation with the staff of the Lviv City Council and the first territorial medical association of Lviv.
